Coming back to the school where I started my teaching journey in 2011 and helping them to start digital transformation with Google Suite for Education is definitely the best way to start 2019!
Among all schools that I have worked with, SDH DM has one of the most cooperative and humble teacher trainers & coordinators who did simple little thing : they LISTEN & DO. What did they listen & do to START Transformation.
1. Set Specific & Measurable Objectives

It’s very crucial for school leaders discussing with coaches how they envision how far they want to transform their schools with technology. School leaders set clear, specific, measurable objectives they want to achieve and discuss how the training can meet their goals.
2. Select The ‘Lead’ Team

It’s very tempting for school leaders to have all people to start transformation which often gives too much pressure for everyone to move forward. Transformation takes focus, energy, effort, time, and investment. You can’t do it alone and you need strong team to start. That’s why, you must start with small group of selected ‘lead team’ from your school who can spread ‘the fire‘ to the other team. This is exactly what this school do!
3. Prepare Infrastructure

After selecting the team, they ‘weaponize‘ the team with robust infrastructure such as fast wifi connection for the workshop. In the training, they have prepared dedicated wifi & decent computer ready to prepare their teachers to explore and experiment with Google Suites for Education. They prepared school IT team to be ready for technical issues that might come up.
4. Hands On Workshop

During 2 hours workshop, we discussed how they can utilize Google Classroom to design blended learning with technology. What did we explore? You can check my bahasa Indonesia posts here. We also discussed how we can design digital transformation with Google Suite for Education and empower other teachers to replicate what they have learned.

Ultimately, this is just the beginning of digital transformation of Sekolah Dian Harapan with Google Suites for Education! So exciting!
