3 Reasons to Attend EduTECH Asia 2019

Are you looking for a reason to attend an edtech conference this year? You should definitely check out EduTECH Asia 2019 in Singapore and the 3 reasons to attend the conference.

Empower Yourself/Your Team with Forward Thinking Mindset

There are so many thoughtful and releavant sessions you can choose in EduTECH Asia from keynote, workshop, teachtechtalk, round table discussion, parallel sessions which allow you to equip and empower your team to believe change is possible. By meeting the local and international innovators & educators who have done it, you will get real inspiration on how it should have been done in your school.

Among all sessions, one of my favorite section in EduTECH Asia is the keynote session that featured relevant stories, best practices, and examples from the most fearless group of edtech leaders, innovators experts, and educators.

Last year, Mitchel Resnick from MIT Media Lab share the importance of having lifelong learning kindergarten elements in your school: Project, Passion, Peers, dan Play. He emphasize that school should be the place of lifelong learning.i Adrian Lim, from IMDA Singapore shared how Singapore prepare their students with fourth industrial revolution through AI, VR, & AR that will dominate future jobs. Here are the recap of last year’s keynote:

TeachTechTalk is my next favorite session as you will meet amazing educators and school leaders who share their passion in form of short, simple, and practice session. You can get connected easily as they share stories, struggles, and success innovatice teaching and learning in schools.

Explore the Exhibitions

There are so many amazing edtech exhibitions you should visit in EduTECH Asia which will allow you choose your own ‘adventure’. This give you chance to discover the best new features/apps/offers released by the edtech companies and meet the team behind the tools you use in your classroom. You will also see the demo of apps, devices, tools you might use in classroom. Last year, among all inspiring exhibitions, there are two exhibitions that really push me to do more for learning:

Labs on Wheels : To prepare digitally ready citizen, IMDA Singapore prepare 2 busses for you to explore VR, AR, & AI through practical and exciting hands on experience. This is definitely a must visit booth as you will get a chance to use VR & AI in teaching 4th Industrial Revolution. I am more than excited to see how it can be implemented in classrooms!

Digital Maker Program: There’s a great power when you amplify your students’ voice. You will discover why it’s true when you visit Digital Maker programme booth. This booth gives you chance to interact directly with amazing group of champion educators and students who share their passion to create with technology.

Engage with the Change Makers

On the second day, there’ll be round table discussion and mentoring session where all school leaders and educators choose topic of their interest (K-12 leaders, higher education, STEAM, edtech, etc).

There will be one person leading discussion and mentoring session and I can tell that discussion is very engaging as everyone get a chance to learn and share their excitement to bring what they have learned to their own school context. This is definitely a must join session where you can really engage with other champion educators and school leaders to start leading the change.
